Obituary of Irene E. Brown

     Irene E. Stah Brown, of Dunsbach Road, died on Sunday Oct. 7, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.  She was born in West Crescent, New York, the  daughter of the late Josaphat and Anna Ukleja Stah.  She was a lifelong resident of West Crescent.  Irene graduated from Waterford High School, class of 1946.  She was a faithful and longtime member of Amity Reformed Church in Vischer Ferry.  Currently, Irene was attending Living Hope United Methodist Church in Waterford.  She was a past member of the Halfmoon Historical Society. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 1498 in Halfmoon, NY and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Korean War Veterans of Troy, NY.

     Irene was the beloved wife of the late Robert H. Brown; whom she married in 1980; loving mother of Bernard C. (Mollie Lampi) Melewski of Altamont, NY, Peter M. (Carol) Melewski of New Baltimore, NY; step-mother of Marc Brown and Denise (James) Boughton, both of  Schenectady, NY; grandmother of Matthew D. and Daniel E. Melewski, Jenna E. and Melanie A. Melewski; great grandmother of Ansa J. Melewski; also survived by 2 sisters, several nieces and a nephew.

     Funeral service will be private on Saturday at Memory Gardens in Colonie, NY.
