Brian really has said everything I would say so perfectly, but I will give it a shot. Having a visit in Mr. and Mrs. Teal's living room was always a treat. They were so welcoming and kind, and Mrs. Teal especially made me feel as if no matter how wacky or rough around the edges I may have been, that I was OK in her book. We shared many a laugh together on Cotton Court, a few tears too, and I drew much encouragement from knowing how much I was cared for there. Eventually I would be lucky enough to bring my own children to that very same living room. Her care for me became her care for us. As they say, people won't remember what you said or what you did--they will remember how you made them feel. Mrs. Teal has left a legacy of love. A beautiful legacy for a beautiful soul. May she be surrounded by angels and peace.

Kelly and I are sending our deepest condolences to the entire family. We hope you can find some peace and solace knowing that we are thinking of you and sending healing thoughts. We have many fond memories of Joan to cherish. She always had a smile to lend, encouragement to offer, and a laugh to share. She was kind, gentle, and treated me like another son. Joan made fast friends and naturally drew people to her, which, I am sure, provided comfort to her friends and caregivers at Kingsway Manor. She had a genuine interest and curiosity about people, making her selfless, always thinking of others first before herself. Joan made her mark on Kelly and me, and we will always carry her in our hearts. Godspeed, Mrs. Teal.
