Obituary of Sterling J. Ramsey
Sterling J. “Pops” Ramsey, 71, of First Avenue, Lansingburgh, beloved long-time companion and fiancé of Daborah “Debbie” Schrom of Lansingburgh, peacefully entered into eternal life on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones.
Born and educated in Philadelphia, PA, he was a Security Guard.
Sterling was an avid Chess player and Mixed Martial Arts fan, loved music, Westerns and was a CB Radio enthusiast who all knew by the handle, “Sky King”.
Devoted fiancé of Daborah, beloved father of Willie (Joanne) Cheatham, Tanya Ramsey and Grace Westfall, grandfather of Cameron Cheatham, Troy Carroll and Tanya’s children, father figure to Tanya Gatlin, Allison Blanchard, Lisa Hunt, Jonathan Hunt and Edward Hunt, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 12 Noon at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.
