Chief Powers was a role model for all of us in the Jonesville Fire Department. His wisdom, demeanor, and knowledge made a big impression on me as a new member back in the late ‘70s. Thank you, Tom. Rest easy brother.

My deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of Tom. I have know Tom my entire life, having been the nephew of Jeanette Moran/Kubinski. I remember when my mother Anita watched Tom's children during the day, when he worked and Tom stopping by every afternoon to pick them up. He was always around at family events and was always a kind and courteous man. I knew of Tom's history of being in the fire service as I was a volunteer with Vischer Ferry. Tom was always willing to help others and was always one to stop and chat whenever our paths crossed. Tom stopped down to the Vischer Ferry General Store and caught up with myself and my brother Jim a couple years ago. We discussed old family ties and it was really nice to catch up. He was a fine man and will be missed.
