Obituary of Carlyle Peterson

Carlyle Peterson, 79, of Guilderland, passed peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2022.

Born in Nyack, NY, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Carl H. Peterson and his wife, the late Marie Ernst Peterson and sister of the late Carl H. Peterson, Jr.  She was raised and educated in Nyack and graduated from Carle Place High School on Long Island, and attended Lamson Business College in Arizona.  Following her schooling, she was married and raised her children in Arizona and back on Long Island.  She moved to the Capital District in the late 70’s.

Carlyle worked for Youth for Christ, Loudonville Community Church, Congregation Beth Emeth and United Way of the Greater Capital Region.  She was a member of Loudonville Community Church, where she served on several committees.

Carlyle is survived by her son, Richard Cardiff, Jr. and his wife Jennifer, of Delmar, NY; her daughter, Darelle Cairo and her husband Ray, of Shoreham, NY; her eight grandchildren: Madeline, Ryan, Corey, Stephen, Toryn, Emma, Rachel and Timothy, as well as her sister Carlys Coble of Scottsdale, AZ.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 7 PM at Loudonville Community Church, 374 Loudon Road (Rte. 9 and Crumitie Rd.), Loudonville, NY 12211, with the Rev. Paul Beck, Pastor, officiating.  Friends may call at the church 1 hour prior to the service, beginning at 6 PM.

The family will hold a private burial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in memory of Carlyle be made to the “Loudonville Community Church Mission Fund”, at the above address.
