My sincerest condolences to all who knew and loved Ron. I realize he passed 2 months ago, I learned of his death only an hour ago when I noticed the shop being cleared out. I am shocked and saddened. I knew him for well over 30 years. During that time he would repair any and every piece of electronics I brought him and give me tips on how to keep them from needing repairs. He was so kind and so patient. In recent years, due to unavailable parts, he could no longer work on my units. Still, I would stop in to say hi and chat whenever I could (his business hours prevented me from visiting more often). He had been telling me for the past several years he wanted to sell the business and retire. I so regret he was never able to do that. However, he is now able to have a well deserved eternal retirement. Again, my heart felt sympathies to all his family, friends, and fellow customers.

Ron was a great guy. My husband knew him for ages, stopping in to the Stereo Workshop to browse, but and sell equipment and to just chat. Sometimes I joined him on these trips, and enjoyed talking to Ron via Facebook. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. He was one of the good ones.

I was a customer of Ron’s many times over the years. He was friendly and oh so talented. Always helped to fix my broken electronics.
I’m so shocked and saddened that he passed away. I was hoping he had more time to enjoy retirement. He certainly earned it. RIP Ron!

what a shock. Ron took me in as a snot nosed teenager and schooled me in the way of electronic repair. he was always a phone call away for answers and further education. I considered him a close friend. he even came to my wedding. I'm the man I am today, because of his patients. . I will miss him . it breaks my heart.

I wanted to give my condolences to Ron's family. I first new Ron only from repairing my stereo but over time I got to know him through a mutual friend who did the sound for a band he used to play with. Occasionally my wife and I would go watch his bands play. I eventually got to know him well enough to stop by the shop and just visit. He would even take me in back to show me all he had back their. We'd talk baseball, music and about "his girl", Linda Ronstadt! He sure loved her.
I can't imagine what will become of the Work Shop. An expert could probably tell you what everything is worth. The problem is that Ron was that expert.
I enjoyed getting to know Ron and will miss him. My prayers go out to all Ron's family and friends.
Blessed are those who morn for they shall be comforted

I am so blessed to have had Ron as my stepdad throughout my teenage years. He was a wise and loving father, with a healthy serving of wit and laughter. I also really appreciate his love for music, taking the time to share his passion. So many fond memories from those years... Thank You
My sincere condolences to the Alvaro family

Sending my sincere condolences to Ron's family and to all who knew and loved him. Having moved from the East End of Long Island to "upstate NY" two years ago spending months looking for a good electronics/music man and only one year ago, I met Ron. I probably visited his shop monthly since, with electronics, stereos and turntables in need of loving care and the kind of expertise only Ron possessed.
After a decades-long career in the music business, I am saddened for the years that passed before I met this wonderful man. Wish I could have known him longer and known him better. My loss.
I spoke to Ron on what became his last Friday afternoon at Stereo Workshop.
Upon hearing of his passing, my only solace is having told him in that conversation, "during the previous year, getting to know you, Ron, was a mitzvah - a blessing - and I can't thank you enough for the loving attention you've given this analog-obsessed-vinyl-record collector/music lover. You are one-of-a-kind and greatly appreciated."
Sincerely,
Alex Miller

My roomate and I, Kevin, have been going to the Stereo Workshop ever since the beginning of 2022. All we needed was one of his recievers fixed. Ever since then, we became regulars to his store, coming in about once a week just to visit and see what's new. Being that we were his youngest regulars, Ron would lovingly refer to us as "the boys" anytime we walked in with whatever broken or out of date gadget we would have at the time. Ron was one of, if not the, nicest and most personable man I've ever met. Ron would always ask how my home life has been, if I've gotten rid of my junker of a van yet, if I've gotten a better pay at my job. Ron was somebody I could look up to, whether he thought so or not. In just the few short months of knowing him, I have tinkered a lot more with my electronics instead of throwing them away, and anytime I fixed something, (or broke something) he'd be right there, congratulating me on what I got right, and filling me in on where I could improve. Ron will never be forgotten. I'll miss walking through those doors just to hear "It's the boys! What have you brought me this time?". I'm sure he's up there now, shredding on his guitar, smiling away, knowing he can finally retire.

My condolences to members of the Alvaro family. I just met Ron for the first time on Veterans Day. I brought in a CD player for repair. I was amazed by his shop and his personal collections. I felt really lucky to meet such a talented guy that has been part of the local music scene for so long. I thought Wow what a treasure I had found. I was completely floored to read of his passing just 3 days after I first met him. He was so welcoming and informative. There were a few other customers that came in while I was there and it became apparent to me how Ron was respected and thought of. He will definitely be missed by his customers, friends and acquaintances. God Bless Ron.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Ronnie's death. He was my go-to person for repairing my vintage audio equipment, and I always loved talking with him about playing and listening to music. I regret that I never got to one of his live performances. He was a class act from the word go.
I send my deepest condolences to his family.

I was just a customer but it was always a pleasure to see and chat with Ron. He called me just a few days before he passed to tell me he could not get the part needed for my turntable. As I was about to drive up to his workshop, I called to make sure he'd be there and was shocked to find out that he was gone. He will be missed both personally and professionally.
