Obituary of Nancy A. Paone

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved; mother, grandmother, great grandmother; Nancy A. Paone, 81, on January 23, 2023, at her daughter Shirley’s home, surrounded by those who loved and cared for her.

Nancy was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Michael Paone, her parents; Richard “Dick” and Shirley Marsceill Briggs; her youngest daughter, Tina M. Paone and most of her siblings.

She is survived by family both near and far; as well as by a very dear friend, Irene Hughes, who loved and will miss her very much.

Nancy worked at St. Augustine’s School in Lansingburgh as a Bookkeeper, Teacher’s Aid as well as a lunch room assistant. She truly enjoyed working with the teachers, especially Kathy Walsh and all of the children. 

Nancy especially enjoyed times spent with her husband Mike dancing the night away and regularly volunteering at the Troy Lodge of Elks #141 where she was a long-time member of the Ladies Auxiliary.

With great difficulty, the family has honored Nancy’s wishes to not have any public services. Following private services, Nancy was laid to rest, next to her husband and daughter Tina at the family plot in St. John’s Cemetery in Lansingburgh.

The family would like to thank Nancy’s doctors; Dr. Kristen Santos and Dr. Allison DeTommasi along with her Hospice Nurses & Aides. Nancy’s daughter would like to especially thank Nancy’s caregivers; son-in-law, Michael O’Rourke; grandson, Alex O’Rourke; great grandson, Jesus Huertas and her very kind and patient friend, Jackie Hubbs with all their love, support and care, Nancy was able to remain at home where she wanted to be.

A very special thank you; to the staff of the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc.; Michael Barna, Jason Montarello and Adam Barna whose professionalism, kindness and care are so very much appreciated.

Paone.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, New York 12182.
