To Me - My Laura Badora - Laura and I began working together in 2008 and worked side by side for the next 15 years. As you can imagine, a lot happens in that span of a workday for all those years. There is no simple statement to make to describe all the memories we made together. We laughed and we cried together. Some happy tears, some not so. But most of all....we worked together. We were always there for one another through thick and thin. The pressures of the work day could definitely get to us, but we had each other to lean on. Laura was truly the most intelligent person I have ever met. A genuine, kind soul, who didn't have a mean bone in her body. She loved life and everything in it. She cherished all people that she encountered in her life on every level. Laura was a crafter and a fine quilter. She spent hours making beautiful quilts which she proudly displayed on her catwalk of her home. Above all, Laura was a learner, she never stopped gaining knowledge. From financial planning/law work; continual Bible study; how the human body works; hours and hours of family genealogy; cooking/baking; making her own natural products; grading the lawn for water flow; fixing the appliances using YouTube; lastly, self-taught crocheting to take her time and keep her mind busy as she said during her dreaded treatments. I can go on and on about Laura. Laura often started her day with a stop at Stewarts for coffee and an apple fritter or boiled eggs. Once the Other Company closed, we sought out the perfect Tuna Salad, but failed. If she wasn't "having a hankering" she was "sleuthing" to "find a theme" all of course in a pair of her crazy, pointy shoes or wild cowboy boots; maybe even some fuzzy slippers, tapping on that SMU keyboard. My friend Laura, was the best! As I'm sad I no longer have her here on earth, I'm happy with her last words that she was going to be o.k. as she would be going to Jesus and that she had a wonderful life. Laura Ann.....Till...we meet again. Fondest memories, Julie, Julie....yes, I love you.
The photo is of her favorite wildflowers she planted in her yard and wanted to plant more in the future.
Ever thankful we were able to reconnect to cheer on our Ponies and share our stories of faith. This pic may be of our last time together on this earth, but we will see each other again.
