**A Tribute to Dennis: Our Leader, Mentor, and Friend**
Dennis was more than just a player in an online game. He was a force, a leader, and a true friend to everyone fortunate enough to know him. We met through Alphawars, where he became one of the best friends I could have asked for. From the start, Dennis had a natural way of bringing people together, teaching, guiding, and helping us all become better players and, in many ways, better people.
Our journey began back in 2013, with a small alliance of only 3-4 players. Dennis taught me the ropes, patiently sharing his strategies and insights, and soon, our late-night gaming sessions turned into meaningful conversations, where friendship flourished alongside fierce gameplay. He wasn’t just a leader on the battlefield—he was our mentor and our unwavering source of strength.
Through his guidance, our alliance grew. Dennis helped countless new players find their footing, always willing to lend a hand to those just starting out. His dedication and commitment lifted us to where we are now: the top alliance in Alphawars. We reached these heights because of Dennis’s vision, wisdom, and relentless spirit.
In his final days, Dennis still logged in to play the game he loved and to stand beside his friends and alliance. His devotion to us was constant, and his influence is woven into the very fabric of our team. The alliance will carry forward, but it will never be the same without him.
Dennis, you leave behind a legacy of strength, loyalty, and friendship. Thank you for every lesson, every late-night strategy, and for the countless ways you lifted us all. You will be missed beyond words, but your memory and spirit will forever guide us in the game—and in life. Rest in peace, dear friend.

So sorry to hear of Denny’s death. I haven’t seen him in several years but fondly recall our time together in Brunswick politics and sports. I enjoyed his sense of humor and admired his devotion to his family and dedication to local sports. May he and his family find peace.

I was lucky enough to have Uncle Denny as both my uncle and my godfather. He was one of the most good natured and funniest people I ever met. He was always pulling pranks in a good way - you could never get mad if you were the joke because you were laughing so hard. Both Uncle Denny and our dad were die hard Red Sox fans and got us hooked too.
Although I did not see him in my later years that often - whenever we had a phone conversation, it was just like we spoke yesterday. I'm sure that is one of the reasons that he was also such a great salesman.
My heartfelt condolences go out to Aunt Nancy and all the kids, grandkids and great grandkids. We will miss you but you have a left us all a lifetime of hearty laughs and great memories.
God Bless,
Steve Lapham

I have to say that Uncle Den was truly one of a kind. His sense of humor will forever be engraved in my heart. Especially with his phone calls. I remember a day he called us up and said he was a cable repairman that was working in our neighborhood and wanted to know how many TV's were in the house, Asked me to turn them all on and do a channel check to make sure they were all working, He had me running up and down stairs for a good 20 minutes before he finally let me in on the gig. He would also always want to know what kind of action was going on in my small coastal town in Marblehead as I had worked for the police department there and he was particularly interested in what type of crime could possibly happen in Marblehead. He'd ask, are people getting ticketed for not wearing the right brand of boat shoes? He'd always find a way to create a good laugh out of you know matter what kind of day you had. My sympathies to Aunt Nancy, Stacey, Brian, Jeff and Chris. We are lucky to have parents like ours who made us what we are today.
Rest in Peace Uncle Den - Say hello to my dad up there - Love Greg Lapham

Uncle Den was probably one of the very best uncles I could ask for. We always had just great times and lots of laughs whenever we visited or when he visited us. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed every bit of life with all of us. Whenever he would call, we always would be laughing on the phone with his stories and the humor he inserted. Uncle Den will be sorely missed, I’m so glad he was my uncle. I know he is in a better place with his late family. May he rest in peace. We love you, Uncle Den

Denny Lapham was the guy that the phrase "they broke the mold" was written for. There was absolutely no one like him. The kindness and thoughtfulness that he showed to scores of kids like me as a coach and as a gentleman cannot be adequately described. Most of my childhood memories revolve around Brunswick Little League and Babe Ruth baseball, and Denny Lapham has at least a cameo appearance in all of them (not to mention the occasional prank that he played on my parents and family - and vice versa). A wonderful man who undoubtedly be sorely missed. I am so grateful to his family for sharing him with us, and may he rest in peace.

It Said To Leave A Memory Of Dennis Here. I Have So Many Great Memories Of Him I Could Fill The Whole Book . First Let Me Start By Saying He Was The Greatest Husband And FATHER I've Ever Known And I've Known A Lot Of Them . From Brunswick Little League To Brunswick Babe Ruth We And Our Families Were Together For About 7 Years Straight , From Camping At Waconda To Playing The American Dream Game At Least 4 Nights A Week. He Was With Me The Time I Almost Died On A Camping Trip To Darien Lake Due To A Blood Clot In My Lung. He Took Over My Family Along With His Own To Make Sure Everybody Still Had A Good Time In Spite Of My Illness. Dennis Lapham , You Were A Very Special Gift To This World And You Will Be Sorely Missed . So Now In Closing , Rest In Peace , Old Friend...

Dear Uncle Den Den: Oh it is with great sadness that I write these words of sympathy. I hope it gives some comfort to your family's broken hearts. You were truly one of the funniest men I ever knew and loved. I laugh thinking of the numerous practical jokes you delightfully played on all of us! The crazy nicknames you gave us-- the stunts in public you pulled on us and on the poor waitresses and waiters from here to Montreal. The auction in VT bidding on junk then leaving the tags on for years--hilarious. You never did get that revenge against me that you vowed for "the greatest prank of all time" that I managed to pull off on you. You would laugh at me bringing it up now and in Heaven that may catch up with me if you have your way. Sorry about that ride we gave you in our old Jeep with no heat in frigid temps when you accused us of trying to give you pleurisy--we still laugh about that comment all these years later. Surely if there is a comedy hour in Heaven...I know you will be center stage--so save us a couple of front row seats. Thank you for being so good to me in childhood and beyond dear Uncle--so good to all of us.
Rest In Paradise Uncle Den Den. Love, Amy & Tim ("Amy's Army & Timothy McVey")

Poppy always lit up any room he entered with his charismatic way. From giving me calls pretending to be a stranger in his iconic voice, or calling all the grandchildren around to listen to a story, I always felt captivated by his character. Although we won’t be able to hear his stories just, “one more time”, they will be remembered and told to the next generation with him in the front of my mind. I love you Poppy, rest now.

I will never forget when Dennis got up to the microphone at his daughter Stacey & my son’s wedding reception. He got quite the laugh when he said, in so many words, “So Bill & Stacey tells me they are getting married, to myself I said, that’s great, we will have a party in the back yard & Donna will make her lasagna, didn’t tell me it would be like this”..he got quite the laughing roar. Den was always there & would get a smile or laugh out of you.
RIP friend
