Obituary of Margreta Dolan

Margreta “Greta” Dolan, 81, of Troy, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.

Born and educated in Troy, New York, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Sally Campbell Dolan.

Greta was employed for many years by Rensselaer County as a Clerk in the Child Support Unit.

Margreta was a very private person and loved food, puzzles, driving fast, as well as taking a chance with betting on the horses. She loved the camaraderie of her co-workers and hearing about what was going on in their lives as much as not wanting to share much about herself being the private person that she was.

In addition to being predeceased by her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother Martin Dolan.

She is survived by her dear friends and caregivers Starletta Washington and Tiffany Morine as well as several co-workers and friends at Rensselaer County and YWCA of the Greater Capital Region.

In keeping with Margreta’s wishes, she will be laid to rest in her family plot in Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.

Relatives and friends are invited to a gathering in remembrance of Margreta on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 12 Noon to 1:30 in the Gym at the YWCA-GCR, 21 First Street, Troy, NY 12180.

Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to YWCA-GCR, 21 1^st St., Troy, NY 12180, in memory of Margreta Dolan.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue, Troy, NY 12182.
