Obituary of Donald Francis Carson

Donald Francis Carson, 88, of  Clifton Park, New York and Sebring, Florida died on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017 at Schuyler Ridge Residential Health Care Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Oneida, New York on Dec. 19, 1928 and was the son of the late Thomas Joseph and Helena Irene Kaiser Carson. He was a graduate of Oneida High School and the University of Miami where he received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Odax submarine during the Korean War. Donald retired as a hearing officer for the Environmental Conservation Dept. with New York State in Albany. He had been a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church in Sebring and St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park. 

 He is the beloved husband of 60 years to the late Audrey Eames Carson, who died on Sept. 14, 2015; the devoted father of Timothy Carson of Fort Myers Beach, Kenneth (Julie) Carson of Mooresville, North Carolina, Robert Carson of Clifton Park, New York, and Mary Ellen (Kenneth) Casabonne of Clifton Park; brother of the late Charles Carson, George Carson, Robert Carson, William Carson and Rosemary Carson; brother-in-law of Anne Carson of Voorhesville, New York, Helen Carson of Canandaigua, New York and Robert Eames of Rochester, New York; grandfather of Lindsey Casabonne, Helaina Casabonne, Angela Omicioli, Ryan Carson, Matthew Carson and Tyler Carson; great-grandfather of Ethan and Caden; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017 at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park, NY 12065 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. There will be no calling hours.

 Interment with full military honors will be in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110.
