Obituary of Sylvia M. Donnelly

Malta - Sylvia "Scotty" Donnelly, 78, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday November 28, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cohoes, she is the daughter of the late Leo and Alice Scott.

Scotty married the love of her life William "Bill" Donnelly on June 30, 1957. She worked as an L.P.N. at Leonard Hospital in Troy and then continued working as a "White Cap" (usher) at the Saratoga Race Course through last summer. Scotty loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren, having dinners and fires in the back yard. She also had an inseparable bond with her twin sister, Sheila, as they both earned their nursing degrees together, loved to go shopping and have their Saturday dinners at Testo's.

In addition to her husband of 60 years, William F. "Bill" Donnelly, Scotty is survived by her children; William J. (Lori Ann) Donnelly, Jim Donnelly, Lori M. Thompson and Nancy (Gary) Callander; her grandchildren, Garrett Thompson, Damion Thompson, Ryan (Jessica) Callander, Ashley Callander, Kate Donnelly, Marc Donnelly and Tim Hill; her great-grandchildren, Lily, Audrey and Nathan; and her siblings, Sheila (Bob) Navajosky, Ray (Margaret) LaMora, Marlene (Richard) Boprey and Joan Perry. She was predeceased by her siblings, George (Elaine) LaMora, Robert (Joan) LaMora and Auriel Baker.

Funeral services for Scotty will be held at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home on Saturday December 2nd at 12:00 p.m. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 10:00 - 12:00.
