I knew Stephen for several years when I was a photo salesman. He was the most courteous store owner and buyer I ever met. He was always a gentleman; a pleasure to have known him. My condolences to all his family.
Sincerely,
Dan DeBellis

I was so very sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I called on Steve from the late 60's through the 80's as a representative of Nikon. We enjoyed a very warm and comfortable relationship that transcended "just business" - he was someone I always looked forward to seeing and visiting with. My sincere condolences to the entire Berns family.

So sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I had the privilege of calling on Steven for many years as a Canon rep. at the Bern's Camera Store. He was a good friend as well as a business associate.

We knew him as Steve, and he and I rode the Academy bus from Loudonville every morning. He was one of the most popular members of the Class of 1961, always one of the first elected to a class office; we worked together in school plays and on the school paper, the Fish and Pumpkin. We went away to Columbia together, both served in Army Intelligence, and attended a lot of reunions. The same old stories got funnier and funnier with each passing year. Steve was a defiant optimist, a joyful companion, and a brilliant student. Knowing him was a privilege and a delight.

I am saddened by the news of Steve's passing. My condolences to everyone in the family. I worked at Bern's Camera back the 1970's and remember Steve as a warm person that ran a tight ship but also cared about his employees. He is gone but not forgotten. Ron

I'm so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I was a former employee of Bern's Camera Store in the old Clifton Country Mall and I always enjoyed chatting with Steve whenever he came into the store. He was an awesome employer and always made his employees feel a part of the Bern's family. RIP...

Bridget & Natalie -
I am sure you do not remember me but I worked for your father at Berns Camera for 9 years in Clifton Park and then in the Office in Albany. Along side James Clayton, Ray Vogel, Robert Davis, Jimmy Dean and many more. As I sit here I am remembering the larger than life laugh your father had and that way I knew it was him coming up the stairs because he always took the time to speak to everyone on his way up. He gave me my first opportunities in business and for that I will always be grateful. Your mother was also a very nice person and while I did not know her well, the few times I did meet her, I was impressed with her strong no nonsense outlook.
I am very sorry about your dad and I wish you comfort, love and understanding during this time.
