Obituary of Howard D. Wildove
Howard David Wildove, passed away at his home on March 25, 2018. He was born in Albany, New York on May 23, 1941, the son of the late Abraham and Charlotte Schectman Wildove.
Howard graduated from The Milne School in Albany, New York in 1959 and graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor’s degree in Government in 1963.
After graduation, Howard was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force where he served as a navigator on a C130 Hercules with the 109th Airlift Wing based out of Stratton Air National Guard Base in Scotia, New York. During his 20 years of service, Howard received 13 air medals and numerous other awards and accolades. After serving his country, Howard was employed as a Business Advisor at the Small Business Development Center in Albany, NY, specializing in veteran services.
He was a member of the Halfmoon Mohawk Post # 1450 American Legion, a member of the Officers Association of America and the "NAVS" Nation Association of Uniform Services.
Howard enjoyed traveling, having breakfast and chatting with his granddaughter, Gabrielle about the wisdom he gained during these travels. He loved drinking Dunkin Donuts coffee (or any black coffee for that matter) and watching movies with his son Todd. Howard loved being cooked for by his daughter in-law, Malory and laughing with his extended family, Chuck, Vicky and Dave. In June of 2017, his son Jonathan accompanied Howard to Washington DC on an Honor Flight for War Veterans. The experience was truly a monumental for both Howard and Jonathan. Howard was known for his adventurous spirit, great sense of humor, his laughter, a tough as nails attitude and especially his generosity.
Howard is survived by his sons Todd and Jonathan Wildove, granddaughter Gabrielle Fisher, sister Elaine Miller numerous other nieces and nephews and ex-wife, Dona Wildove.
Interment with full military honors will be on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. The family will be sitting Shiva at the home of Dona Wildove, 29 Sunset Boulevard, Albany, NY 12205 following the service.
