I worked with Mark at DSS for many years and was proud to think of him as a friend. I talked to him only sporadically after DSS broke up but I continued to hold him high in my affections. I am greatly saddened by his passing and extend my sincere condolences to Joan and all the rest of his family, particularly to his brothers whom I never met but whom Mark would sometimes find occasion to speak of very affectionately in our conversations. Mark was devoted to his work at DSS, he was conscientious in his work to a degree that sometimes cost him good will, but the world would be better off with more like him than fewer. I'm not one to feel sure there's a Hereafter, but in Mark's case I hope there is and that he's richly rewarded in it.

I was very saddened to read of Mark’s passing. We worked together for many years when he was Budget Director at DSS and I was at the Division of the Budget. I am sure he will be missed by all.

Matt, sad to see some of us Perry Roaders leaving too soon. Mark was a great guy. I've lived mostly in California, now in Delaware, but my heart is still with you all in Speigletown.
