Obituary of Ronald W. Stewart

Vischer Ferry – Ronald W. Stewart, 90, passed away peacefully at Samaritan Hospital on Sunday November 13, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Queensbury, he is the son of the late William and Marion Stewart. Ronald was a proud member of the "Greatest Generation" and after being drafted he honorably served our country during World War II in The United States Army. He was employed by The United States Postal Service and was a longtime parishioner of Amity Reformed Church. Ronald is survived by his children; Mark Stewart, Pamela Stewart, and her husband, Stephen Krenzer, and Douglas Stewart, and his wife Holly. He is pre-deceased by his son, David Stewart, whose widow Laura Perkins Stewart survives him. Ronald's grandchildren also survive him, in order of age: Brian, Colin, Ethan, Blair, Bobby, Lucinda, and Hannah. He is also survived by his longtime companion Barbara Cozzens, who provided loving care for him throughout their time together, especially during his last 3 years of life. He was predeceased by his wives; Janice Stewart and Jeanine M. Neander, and his sister; Fay Stewart Cormie. Those wishing to remember Ronald in a special way, may make memorial contributions in his name to The Amity Reformed Church, 335 Riverview Rd. Rexford, NY 12148. He asked that donations be made either to the congregation or to the Cemetery association. Checks can be specified for either purpose on the memo line. Funeral services for Ronald will be held on Thursday November 17th at 11:00 a.m. at the Amity Reformed Church. A Calling hour will be held at the church, prior to the service, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Vischer Ferry Cemetery, estimated to start at 12:15.
