Obituary of William D. Sousis, Sr.

William D. “Bill” Sousis, Sr., 75, of North Adams, MA, formerly of 10th Street in Troy, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, April 30, 2019.

Born in Keeseville, New York, Bill was one of 22 children of the late Edgar and Delia Lamere Sousis, Sr. and was the beloved husband of Carol A. Bloomquist Sousis who passed away on February 6, 2016.

Bill was self-employed and was generous to all. You could always count on him to be there to lend a helping hand whether it was to let you borrow something or help with fixing a car. He enjoyed fishing and bowling and was quite the ladies man. He was a huge fan of professional wrestling especially of the WWE, was known to be a good mechanic and car detailer and had owned and operated a pizzeria in Buffalo at one time.

Devoted father and “Pops” of “B.D.” William D. Sousis, Jr., Carol Ann Sousis (late, Andrew Yager), Delia Landfear (James Scoville), Leo Sousis, William D. Sousis, Caran A. Sousis (Chris Richardson), Frank Sousis, Charles Sousis and Brian Sousis (Dana), dear companion of Queeny, loving brother of Theresa (Dack) Lauzon, Francis Sousis, Edgar “Uncle Nut” Sousis, Larry (Karen) Sousis, Linda (Paul Lown) Sousis, Brenda (William) Brown, John Sousis and Laura Murray and several additional siblings that he was predeceased by, he was also survived by his numerous cherished grandchildren, adored great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their families.

Funeral service in celebration of William’s life will be held on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, New York 12182 and will then continue at 5:00 p.m. at the Cohoes American Legion, 93 Oneida St. in Cohoes.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
